Strategy

Build the Right Product — Right

MVP scoping, roadmaps, and technical strategy that get you to a shippable, defensible product without the six months of wasted engineering.

Overview

What we mean by product strategy

Product strategy is the work that happens before the code — and it's where most projects that fail have already lost. Building fast doesn't matter if you're building the wrong thing. We work with founders, product leaders, and executive teams to translate a business idea into a specific, buildable, defensible product plan. That means user research, competitive analysis, feature prioritization, technical architecture, and a realistic roadmap that survives contact with reality. Some engagements last two weeks and end with a written plan you can execute internally. Others become long-term partnerships where we help build what we scoped. Either way, the value is the same: you avoid the six-month detour of building the wrong feature for the wrong user.

Why it matters

The value you get

Concrete outcomes — not vague promises.

Sharper MVP Scope

Cut features that don't move the needle. Every MVP we scope is smaller than the founder's first draft — and ships faster because of it.

Executable Roadmaps

Roadmaps written with real timelines, real team assumptions, and real dependencies. No vague quarters or wishful thinking.

De-risked Investment

Before spending $200k on engineering, spend $15k understanding whether it's the right $200k. The math almost always works.

Technical Grounding

Strategy from a team that also builds. Our recommendations survive engineering scrutiny because we know what shipping actually costs.

What's included

Every engagement covers

The capabilities baked into every project we ship.

Discovery workshops with founders and stakeholders
User research and problem validation
Competitive landscape and positioning analysis
Feature prioritization (MoSCoW, RICE, opportunity scoring)
MVP scope definition and success metrics
Technical architecture recommendations
Realistic timelines and team sizing
Investor-ready product briefs and pitch appendices
Ideal for

Who this is for

Teams and situations where this service pays off fastest.

Pre-Seed and Seed Founders

Idea validated, funding pending, engineering not yet hired. We give you the roadmap that unlocks the raise and de-risks the build.

Enterprise Innovation Teams

Internal ventures inside larger orgs that need to move like a startup but justify decisions to a board. We provide the artifacts and the rigor.

Product Refocus Engagements

Existing products that aren't growing. We diagnose whether it's a product, positioning, or execution problem — and what to do about it.

Our process

How we work

A repeatable process refined across dozens of shipped products.

1

Kickoff & Alignment

Two-hour session with your leadership team to align on business goals, constraints, and definitions of success.

2

Research & Discovery

User interviews, competitive scan, and technical due diligence on any existing systems.

3

Strategy Synthesis

Feature prioritization, MVP definition, and roadmap drafting. Options presented with tradeoffs, not just recommendations.

4

Written Roadmap Delivery

A documented product plan — MVP scope, timeline, budget, team plan, and success metrics — that you can execute with any team.

5

Optional: Continued Partnership

For teams that want to keep going: we'll build what we scoped, or advise your team as they build. Zero pressure — the plan stands alone.

FAQ

Common questions

Straight answers — no filler.

Isn't product strategy just consulting fluff?
It can be — done by people who've never shipped a product. Our strategy work is done by people who've built dozens of apps and know what actually breaks in month three. The output is concrete, not slide-deck theater.
Do we have to hire you to build after strategy?
No. Some of our strategy engagements end with a written plan that clients execute with their own team or another vendor. We optimize for the plan being right — not for locking you in.
How long is a typical strategy engagement?
Focused sprints (MVP scope only): 2–3 weeks. Fuller strategy engagements (research, roadmap, architecture): 4–6 weeks. Anything longer is usually strategy + delivery combined.
What does product strategy cost?
Ranges from $10k for a focused MVP scope to $40k for a full research-and-roadmap engagement with enterprise-grade artifacts. We publish scope and price up front.
Can you work with our existing product team?
Yes, and we prefer it. Our best engagements are collaborative — we bring outside perspective and pattern recognition, your team brings context and ownership.
What deliverables do we get?
A written product plan, prioritized backlog, MVP definition, technical architecture doc, timeline, budget, and success metrics — all in editable formats your team can maintain.
